Rapper and producer Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, took up the adaptation of the popular franchise of cooperative shooters Payday. The project is being developed in collaboration with Vice Studios, as well as the authors of the original trilogy from Starbreeze studio.
The plot of the future series will traditionally unfold around a gang of professional robbers who make daring raids on the most secure storage facilities around the world. According to 50 Cent, the adaptation will treat the source as carefully as possible and will preserve the key features of Payday – detailed planning of robberies and dynamic action.
Screen adaptation is at the earliest stage of development. At the moment, the project does not have a showrunner, director and approved cast, so the timing of the start of filming and the premiere date have not yet been disclosed.
