Battlefield 6 Launches Top Gun: Maverick Crossover Featuring Wake Island Remake and Fighter Jets

Battlefield 6 developers have announced a limited-time crossover event with Top Gun: Maverick. Launching August 18, the event brings a remake of the Wake Island map, new two-seater fighter jets, and the Carrier Strike mode to the shooter.
As part of the crossover, the game will feature a special aerial combat mode called Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep. The developers created two new two-seater fighter jets for it—the F/A-81F Super Spectre and the F-74A Seacat. The second key mode will be Carrier Strike, which combines ground combat with a subsequent assault on the ship.
Wake Island Map and Weapons
The main geographical update is the return of the Wake Island map from the original Battlefield 1942, updated with modern graphics. The infantry arsenal is expanded with the Interdictor sniper rifle, which boasts the longest firing range of any weapon in the game.
On the launch day of August 18, a themed battle pass featuring Top Gun: Maverick rewards and cosmetics will also go live in the shooter.
