Metro 2039 Pre-Orders Open Next Week, Collector’s Edition Includes Wearable Spartan Helmet

4A Games and Deep Silver are preparing to launch pre-orders for Metro 2039 during the week of October 12–18, 2026. Alongside the standard editions, a limited Collector’s Edition will go on sale, headlined by a full-size replica helmet belonging to the new protagonist, the Stranger.
The developers announced the upcoming pre-order launch on October 9, inviting fans to register early to be the first to receive details about Collector’s Edition availability. The exact pre-order date, pricing, and the contents of other game editions have not yet been revealed.
Collector’s Edition Features a Wearable Helmet
The centerpiece of the Collector’s Edition is the Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet—a wearable copy of the Stranger’s combat helmet. It was crafted directly from the character’s in-game 3D model.
The helmet features a flip-up visor, integrated gas mask components, scratches, scuffs, and other signs of wear. 4A Games emphasizes that this is not merely a display piece: the replica is fully wearable.
The helmet was first shown ahead of Gamescom 2026 and later showcased to attendees at the expo. Deep Silver has already cautioned that quantities of the Collector’s Edition will be limited.
The complete contents of the Collector’s Edition and the list of countries where it will be officially available remain unknown. These details will likely serve as key highlights of the pre-order announcement.
Metro 2039 Launches in February and Returns the Series to Moscow
Metro 2039 is scheduled to launch on February 4, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In select regions, the game will arrive on February 5.
This time, the protagonist is not Artyom, but a former Spartan known as the Stranger. After years in exile, he returns to post-apocalyptic Moscow, where the metro has fallen under the control of the New Reich—a regime led by Hunter.
4A Games describes the new entry as a single-player, story-driven FPS combining exploration, stealth, survival, and gunplay. Built on the proprietary 4A Engine, the game is designed from the ground up for ray tracing for the first time in the series.
The developers confirmed that PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X will feature a performance mode targeting 60 fps with ray tracing. The initial console gameplay reveal was captured on PS5 Pro running in this mode.
For now, Metro 2039 can only be wishlisted on digital storefronts. System requirements for the PC version have not yet been released.
The pre-order rollout should answer several remaining questions: pricing across different editions, what each tier includes, and just how limited the helmet edition will be.
