A hacker going by the handle voices38 announced a crack for Denuvo DRM in the action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Unlike earlier unofficial builds, the new release does not require low-level virtualization (Hypervisor Bypass).

Ubisoft’s remake launched on July 9, 2026. Unofficial copies first surfaced online prior to the official release, but running them required intercepting protection triggers using the DenuvOwO hypervisor. The release by voices38 removes the need for a third-party hypervisor bypass: Denuvo was cracked directly, eliminating the virtualization setup entirely.

Timeframe and Hacker Activity

As Tom’s Hardware notes, creating the crack took a little over a month from the game’s official release.

This marks the second recent Denuvo crack for voices38: just 11 days before Black Flag Resynced, a similar hypervisor-free protection bypass was released for the action RPG Crimson Desert.
