Apple Switches to Weekly Release Cycle With Sixth Betas of iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate

Apple has released the sixth developer betas of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. The new builds arrived exactly one week after the previous wave, signaling a transition to a weekly update cycle ahead of the official fall launch.
At this stage of development, the primary focus is on optimizing performance and power efficiency, as well as fixing system bugs.
New Features in iOS 27 and Redesigned Window Controls in macOS 27
According to 9to5Mac, iOS 27 Beta 6 fixes a graphical bug in the pinned messages interface introduced in the previous build and adjusts animation physics in Notification Center.
The desktop operating system received more noticeable visual changes: according to a breakdown of macOS 27 Golden Gate, developers updated the classic “traffic light” window controls, giving them a 3D appearance reminiscent of classic Mac OS X. The system also received a refreshed icon for the built-in Preview app and a set of dynamic wallpapers featuring the Golden Gate Bridge.
Public Betas and Final Release Schedule
According to the release schedule on the Apple Developer portal, alongside the developer versions, the company rolled out Public Beta 4 for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and tvOS 27, opening testing to public users.
The final release of stable versions for all new Apple operating systems will take place in September 2026 during the company’s annual fall event.
