Disney and Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 5’ Arrives on Digital Following $1.11B Box Office Run

Disney and Pixar have released the animated blockbuster Toy Story 5 on digital platforms. Starting August 18, 2026’s highest-grossing animated movie became available to buy and rent on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.
The fifth installment in the franchise has grossed nearly $1.115 billion worldwide, according to The Numbers, setting a box office record for the series. Audiences and critics gave the sequel a warm reception, with the film holding Rotten Tomatoes scores of 93% from critics and 94% from audiences.
Smart Gadget Plot and Bonus Features
Directed by WALL-E and Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton, the story centers on the struggle between the traditional toy world led by Woody and Buzz Lightyear and a new smart tablet for kids, Lilypad, which is rapidly stealing young Bonnie’s attention away from classic dolls and action figures.
According to People, the digital release includes bonus features: five deleted scenes, audio commentary by the director, a gag reel, and behind-the-scenes making-of featurettes.
The film arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 22, with its Disney+ streaming premiere date to be announced later.
