Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune 3’ to Screen in IMAX Four Days Ahead of Global Premiere

Warner Bros. will hold special early screenings of the sci-fi blockbuster Dune: Part Three in premium IMAX 70mm format. According to ticketing service Fandango, exclusive Insider Screenings in North American theaters will kick off on December 14, 2026 — four days before the official theatrical release.

Aimed at fans, the early screenings will take place at select locations from the Regal and Harkins chains, as well as Canada’s Cineplex, equipped with 70mm IMAX film projectors. Meanwhile, the film’s wide international release is scheduled for December 18, according to the official IMAX website.

Trilogy finale and the return of the star-studded cast

The upcoming film will adapt Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah and serve as the final chapter in director Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi trilogy. The plot will focus on the consequences of Paul Atreides becoming emperor of the galaxy and the start of the holy war.

Timothée Chalamet (Paul Atreides), Zendaya (Chani), Florence Pugh (Princess Irulan), Anya Taylor-Joy (Alia Atreides), and Robert Pattinson will return to their roles for the final installment.
