Luminosity Gaming Benches Bymas From CS2 Roster After Just Five Matches

North American esports organization Luminosity Gaming has announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster, benching Lithuanian rifler Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras. The player spent just 54 days on the roster, playing five official matches during that time, all of which ended in defeat for the team.
The club has already begun searching for a new fifth player to stabilize its results.
A Disastrous Start and a Drop in the Valve Rankings
Luminosity returned to the professional CS2 scene in the summer of 2026 by signing the former core of Monte’s European roster—Bymas, Rainwaker, afro, and AZUWU—while Brazilian player lux took on the captain role.
According to HLTV, the team finished last at both the XSE Pro League Guangzhou and the Esports World Cup 2026, failing to win a single series. The winless streak dropped the squad in the global Valve rankings from 23rd to 39th place, significantly hurting their chances of receiving a direct invite to the PGL Singapore Major.
Decline in Individual Form and Player Status
The 22-year-old esports player himself acknowledged his unsatisfactory individual performance in recent matches in a personal statement on social media and confirmed his readiness to explore transfer offers from other organizations. Over the past three months, Bymas’s HLTV rating dropped to 0.87 across 27 maps, compared to his annual average of 0.97.
As noted by Dust2.us, four players remain on Luminosity Gaming‘s active roster: lux, AZUWU, afro, and Rainwaker. The organization will announce its new player before the start of the upcoming qualifiers.
