Saber Interactive has shared new details on the sci-fi action game Turok: Origins and updated its release window. The reboot of the iconic dinosaur-hunting franchise has been pushed from fall 2026 to spring 2027 and will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The project marks the first new numbered entry in the series in nearly two decades.

Warriors of the Turok Order and Three-Player Co-op

The story puts players in the role of warriors from the ancient Turok Order. Heroes will face not only prehistoric reptiles but also an alien civilization threatening human survival on distant planets.

According to the developers at Saber Interactive, the story campaign can be played solo or in co-op for up to three players.

Dynamic Camera Switching and DNA Collection

A key feature of the combat system is the ability to switch the camera between first-person and third-person views at any time, allowing players to experience the action in the classic FPS format of the original or in a modern positional mode.

The progression system is built around the mechanic of collecting DNA from defeated creatures:

  • Trophy biomaterial is used to unlock active perks and suit abilities;
  • The character’s armor physically mutates and visually changes based on the installed genomes;
  • The arsenal combines traditional hunting bows, shotguns, and heavy plasma cannons with modular upgrade options.

Locations and Simultaneous Switch 2 Launch

Battles will take place across several planets, ranging from dense jungles and abandoned temples to canyons and caves filled with giant bosses.

As reported by Gematsu, the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 console has been officially added to the list of launch platforms.

The project page is already live on Steam, with the release across all four platforms scheduled for spring 2027.
