JoJo: Steel Ball Run Returns September 25 — New Opening “SPIN” Released

The creators of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run have unveiled a full, creditless opening ahead of the series’ continuation. The track “SPIN” was performed by the Japanese band Kroi, and new episodes will begin streaming on Netflix on September 25.

In the official announcement, Kroi said the track was inspired by the atmosphere of classic Westerns and the music of Ennio Morricone and The Ventures. The band blended that sound with the funk, soul and hip-hop elements they’re known for.

The “SPIN” single is also out on music platforms. The full creditless opening has been posted on the project’s official YouTube channel.

11 Episodes Split Between 2nd and 3rd STAGE

The Steel Ball Run continuation premieres on Netflix on September 25, with new episodes arriving every Friday after that.

There’s an important clarification about the episode count. The announced 11 episodes cover both the 2nd and 3rd STAGE combined, not just the upcoming second stage. Netflix also notes that the release will be split into two blocks, so there will be a break between the 2nd and 3rd STAGE.

Netflix confirms the continuation will be available to subscribers worldwide.

In total, the Steel Ball Run race itself is divided into nine stages.

Johnny and Gyro Set Off Across the “Devil’s Palm”

After the events of the first episode, Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli will continue their transcontinental race across the United States. The next leg runs through a desert roughly 750 miles long, home to a dangerous area known as the “Devil’s Palm.”

As they press on, the heroes begin to realize that what’s happening around the race goes far beyond an ordinary competition.

The continuation will also feature Mountain Tim, Hot Pants and Funny Valentine. They’re voiced in Japanese by Tomoaki Maeno, Yoko Hikasa and Tomokazu Sugita, respectively.

The first stage of Steel Ball Run premiered on Netflix on March 19 as a single 47-minute episode and is already available to watch.

The anime adapts the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki’s manga. It’s set in the United States in 1890 and centers on a massive horse race across North America with a $50 million grand prize.

So September 25 marks the start of the 2nd STAGE, while the announced 11 upcoming episodes cover both the second and third stages of the story.
