Bulgarian esports player Slaven “AwaykeN” Lyubenov has written his name into competitive Counter-Strike 2 history. Playing for INFURITY at Urban Riga Open Season 7, the sniper set a new all-time record for kills on a single map at an offline event. He managed 62 frags, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
The record match took place on the classic map Dust2 against Inner Circle Academy. The game turned into an endurance marathon and went into a long series of overtime rounds. According to HLTV, the winner was decided only after six overtimes — the map ended 29:31 in favor of Inner Circle.
AwaykeN finished the grueling game with a 62–37 record. The Bulgarian player averaged 105 damage per round (ADR), his KAST rating reached 81.7%, and his final rating settled at 1.59. For the pro scene, this is a rare example of an individual performance of historic proportions being undone by the team result in a long, grinding game.
How the result compares with other records in the shooter
With his performance, Lyubenov broke the previous LAN record, which had stood for almost a year. The old mark was set in a match between AM and Nexus at Digital Crusade DraculaN Season 2, where Altekz and k1to each scored 60 kills.
It’s important to separate offline tournament stats from online matches, where the numbers are traditionally higher because more games are played. In the all-time global CS2 rankings, Hungarian esports player xelex holds first place with 67 frags online, while sstiNiX sits second (63 kills). AwaykeN’s result shares an honorable third place in the global ranking with mopoz and pain, who also previously racked up 62 frags online.
The Urban Riga Open Season 7 tournament itself is being held in the Latvian capital on September 29 and 30. As noted on the event page, eight European teams are competing for a modest $5,500 prize pool.
