Christopher Nolan’s epic historical drama “The Odyssey” has crossed the $1.30 billion mark at the global box office. The film needs about $37 million more to surpass “Deadpool & Wolverine” and become the highest-grossing R-rated movie in cinema history.
The film has held the top spot internationally for over a month, and its recent successful debut in China added $35.9 million to its haul.

According to data from the tracking site The Numbers, the blockbuster has officially become the highest-grossing film of Christopher Nolan’s career, surpassing “The Dark Knight Rises” ($1.08 billion).
Additionally, “The Odyssey” is only the third R-rated film ever, after “Joker” and “Deadpool & Wolverine,” to cross the billion-dollar mark.
