British actor Tom Holland will earn the largest payday of his career for starring in the superhero blockbuster “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” According to sources cited by TheWrap, a box office profit-sharing contract will push the Peter Parker actor’s total earnings past $100 million.

Holland’s base pay for the role was $20 million—$10 million more than he received for “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” However, backend payouts will make up the bulk of his earnings. The actor’s contract includes no cap on his percentage of box office receipts, guaranteeing a payout exceeding $100 million, with the total potentially rising higher as the film continues its theatrical run.

Pay Evolution: From $250,000 to an All-Time High

Over ten years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor’s pay has grown rapidly:

  • “Captain America: Civil War” (2016): around $250,000 for his debut appearance;
  • “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017): $500,000;
  • “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019): $4 million;
  • “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021): $10 million;
  • “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (2026): over $100 million including box office bonuses.

Box Office Success and Comparison to Robert Downey Jr.’s Record

The main driver behind the record payout is the movie’s historic box office run. As reported by Reuters, the release grossed $932 million in its opening weekend and crossed the $2 billion mark in just 18 days, becoming the second-fastest film in history to do so behind the final “Avengers” entry.

Holland’s deal surpasses earnings made by other franchise stars. For comparison, People reports that Robert Downey Jr. earned a total of around $75 million ($20 million base salary and $55 million in box office bonuses) for “Avengers: Endgame.”
