Redmi K100 to Feature 10,000 mAh Battery and Ultrasonic Scanner: Xiaomi Building Battery Life Champion

Xiaomi is preparing to launch the standard Redmi K100 model, with its headline feature being a record-breaking silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of around 10,000 mAh. According to insiders, the base model will not only outlast the higher-end flagships in the lineup but will also feature a fast 1.5K display, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and flagship-grade IP68 water and dust resistance.
Tablet-level battery: How engineers fitted 10,000 mAh
The main technical surprise of the new phone is its battery capacity: the regular Redmi K100 will beat the higher-tier models in the series by nearly 1,000 mAh. For comparison, the previously introduced Redmi K100 Pro features an 8,580 mAh battery, while the flagship K100 Pro Max packs 9,070 mAh.
According to insider Digital Chat Station on IT Home, such an impressive gain was made possible by switching to next-generation silicon-carbon anodes. The energy density in these cells reaches 945 Wh/L with a silicon content of around 26%, making it possible to multiply capacity without increasing body thickness. According to preliminary data, the device will support 100W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging.
Flat OLED screen and flagship dual-chip platform
The smartphone will feature a high-quality flat 1.5K display. Similar to the released models in the K100 series, the screen will offer:
- an ultra-high refresh rate of up to 185Hz;
- energy-efficient M11-generation organic materials with a full RGB subpixel layout;
- high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce eye strain.
Performance is handled by a dual-chip layout: a flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite main processor works alongside a dedicated graphics chip that optimizes frame interpolation in demanding games.
Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and IP68 protection
Unlike the optical under-display sensors of previous generations, the entire new Redmi line is moving to 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. The technology scans a 3D map of skin pores using ultrasonic waves, enabling instant and accurate unlocking even with wet or dirty fingers.
In addition to the scanner, the engineering sample features:
- symmetrical stereo speakers;
- an enlarged X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback;
- a sealed body with an official IP68 water and dust resistance rating.

Positioning and launch date
The K100 family is following a new rollout strategy for the brand: the August release of the K100 Pro and Pro Max covered the camera phone segment with 200MP sensors and periscope zoom lenses starting at 3,999 yuan.
According to Xiaomi’s official lineup strategy, the base Redmi K100 will launch later as a more affordable “people’s flagship,” focusing on maximum battery life and gaming performance. The company will reveal the final launch date and pricing during a separate announcement.
