Smartphone with 10,000 mAh battery and IP69 protection: insiders reveal POCO X8 Power specs

POCO is gearing up to launch a new mid-range hit, the POCO X8 Power, whose standout feature will be a massive silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 10,000 mAh. The full list of specs was published by reputable insider Sanju Choudhary, and key details have been confirmed by GSMArena.
Despite the record battery, the device won’t turn into a bulky rugged brick: thanks to the high density of silicon-carbon cells, the body will be a slim 8.68 mm thick. It will also offer top-tier protection against water, dust, and high-pressure hot water jets, rated IP68 and IP69.
1.5K display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip, and fast storage
According to the leak analysis, the phone packs an impressive set of flagship features:
- Display: 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, and 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort;
- Processor: the new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 with Kryo cores up to 2.6 GHz, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0 support;
- Memory: fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage;
- Cameras: a 50MP main sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens, plus a 32MP front camera for selfies.

The company promises long-term software support: 4 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of regular security patches.
A Redmi Note 17 Pro Max clone for the global market
The POCO X8 Power’s specs almost exactly mirror those of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, for which Xiaomi has already confirmed a 10,000 mAh battery with 100W charging and drop resistance from up to three meters.
As is typical for the Xiaomi ecosystem, the POCO model will be a rebranded version of the top Redmi Note model for select international markets, with minor cosmetic changes to the back panel.
The official launch date for the POCO X8 Power is expected soon after the global Redmi Note 17 series event, scheduled for August 27.
