Xiaomi to Start Rolling Out Stable HyperOS 4 on October 15 — Update Schedule Published

Xiaomi has revealed the rollout schedule for stable HyperOS 4. The first wave of updates for devices already on the market starts October 15, 2026, while some models won’t get the new system until January 2027. For now, the schedule mainly covers Chinese versions of the devices — the company hasn’t announced timing for global Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models.

According to the schedule published by Xiaomi and cited by IT Home, HyperOS 4 will begin rolling out on October 15 to the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and 17 Ultra, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, and the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets.

By October 31, the rollout should begin for the Xiaomi 17 Max, 17T and 17T Pro, the Redmi K90 Max, K90 Ultra, Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max. The same wave will include the Redmi K Pad 2 and several Xiaomi TV series.

Xiaomi 15 gets updated in November, Xiaomi 13 and 14 in December

By November 15, the rollout should reach the Xiaomi 15 family, the MIX Flip 2, Civi 5 Pro, Redmi K80 and Turbo 4, as well as the Xiaomi Pad 7 series tablets. By the end of November, updates are planned for the Redmi Note 17, Note 15 and several Redmi tablets.

In December, Xiaomi plans to move on to older flagships. HyperOS 4 is slated for the Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro and 14 Ultra, Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro and 13 Ultra, MIX Fold 3 and Fold 4, MIX Flip, the Redmi K70 lineup and a number of other devices. Some TVs, watches and fitness bands will get the update in January 2027.

One of the main changes in HyperOS 4 is the Soft Light Glass design, with translucent elements and effects of light and depth. Xiaomi has also reworked the lock screen, notification grouping, home screen folder sizes and the control center for connected devices. The company separately claims optimizations to system apps and reduced interface lag.

The set of visual effects may vary by device. During the beta testing phase, the most demanding Soft Light Glass effects are initially limited to models on Snapdragon 8 Elite and newer platforms, Dimensity 9500 and newer, as well as the XRING O1. Xiaomi plans to expand support after further optimization.

No schedule yet for global smartphones

Owners of international versions shouldn’t rely directly on the Chinese dates. Xiaomi has already launched a global HyperOS 4 testing program for Global and EEA firmware: enrollment opened first for the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra, and on September 17 the Xiaomi 17T, 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra joined the program.

Xiaomi itself warns that beta versions may be unstable and have app compatibility issues. Rolling back from HyperOS 4 Beta to HyperOS 3 via a regular OTA update is also impossible — reverting requires reflashing the device.

As of September 18, the company has not published a separate stable HyperOS 4 schedule for global Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices. So the October 15 date refers to the Chinese schedule and doesn’t mean international versions of the smartphones will get the update the same day.
