Developers have unveiled The Missing Tail, a two-player adventure puzzle about the joint journey of two very different cats. The game is coming to PC via Steam, and the team is already accepting applications for a closed beta test.

The story revolves around an unlikely alliance: stray cat Stray and pampered house cat Royal get lost in a medieval fairy-tale world and try to find their way home. Each hero will have their own unique traits, and the entire gameplay is built around constant mutual support.

Split-Screen and One Copy for Two

The gameplay focuses on exploring locations and solving spatial puzzles together. Players will climb rooftops, explore bustling markets and quiet villages, help local animals, and overcome nighttime dangers.

According to the official The Missing Tail website, the game is being developed for split-screen play. You won’t need to buy two copies: the owner of the game on Steam can invite a partner for free via Steam Remote Play Together. For a comfortable experience, the creators recommend both players use gamepads.

In structure, the project is similar to acclaimed co-op hits like It Takes Two, but emphasizes a leisurely, cozy fairy-tale atmosphere. The developers haven’t announced a specific release date yet.
