China Builds Mobile Villa on an Industrial Lift Platform: It Rises 16 Meters and Rotates 360 Degrees

Chinese specialty vehicle maker Zhejiang Dingli has found an unexpected use for heavy lifting platforms. The company has turned an industrial chassis into a self-contained living module called Sky Villa that can rise up to 16 meters and rotate 360 degrees for a better panoramic view.

The structure was unveiled at the foot of Mogan Mountain in Zhejiang Province. The home is based on self-propelled boom lift technology: the platform features all-wheel drive, steerable wheels for off-road travel, and hydraulic stabilizing outriggers. Safety is handled by wind speed sensors, an emergency descent system, and automatic door locking at height.

A hotel room above the treetops

Inside, the capsule is designed like a compact hotel suite. Zhejiang Dingli’s official presentation mentions a full sleeping area, a separate bathroom, air conditioning, ambient lighting, and a media center, all controllable from a single touch panel.

For those who enjoy fresh air, some boom-equipped versions come with an open balcony, and solar panels can be mounted on the roof for off-grid operation.

According to industry outlet Vertikal.net, the project targets the glamping and ecotourism industry. The manufacturer has developed three module configurations: a living unit, a viewing mini-café, and a children’s play area. The first flying capsules are planned for resorts in the Mogan Mountain range.
