First Trailer for Spy Thriller Fortitude Stars Nicolas Cage and Ben Kingsley

Simon Afram Productions and Op-Fortitude have released the debut trailer for the military spy thriller Fortitude. Directed by Simon West (Con Air, The Expendables 2), the film stars Nicolas Cage, Ben Kingsley, Matthew Goode, Ed Skrein, Alice Eve, and Michael Sheen.
The screenplay is based on the real Operation Fortitude, one of the boldest disinformation campaigns of World War II. Ahead of the Normandy landings, Allied intelligence launched a massive operation to deceive German intelligence. To conceal the true location of the attack, the military created fake radio traffic, inflatable tank decoys, and entire virtual armies under the command of General George Patton.
Star-Studded Cast and Visual Effects
In addition to Nicolas Cage and Ben Kingsley, the cast includes Jordi Mollà, Lukas Haas, Art Malik, Paul Anderson, and Emilio Sacra. As noted on the project’s page at studio Cinesite, it is the company’s London division that is responsible for creating the computer graphics and recreating large-scale scenes of the wartime era.
The filmmakers position the film not just as a battle action movie, but as a tense intellectual game between intelligence services, the outcome of which determined the fate of the opening of the Second Front.
Legal Scandal Surrounding the Release
The film attracted attention long before the premiere of the first trailer. According to Reuters, producer Simon Afram filed a lawsuit against streaming service Netflix for $105 million, claiming that a hard drive with the film’s master copy went missing from the platform’s office. Netflix denied the allegations and stated it bore no responsibility for the incident.

According to the official press release, the film is slated for release sometime in 2026, with distributors announcing the exact theatrical and digital release dates later.
