Vivo Unveils V80 Lite 5G With Record 10,000 mAh Battery and IP69 Rating

Vivo has launched its mid-range V80 Lite 5G smartphone on the international market. The main highlight of the device is a 10,000 mAh BlueVolt silicon battery packed into a relatively slim 8.6 mm body weighing 224 grams. Malaysia is the first country where the new phone has officially gone on sale.
According to the device page on Vivo’s website, the fourth-generation battery is rated for 1,400 full charge cycles without dropping below 80% capacity, which equals roughly seven years of active use. The smartphone supports reverse wired charging and can function as a power bank for other gadgets, while heat dissipation is handled by an internal 3,800 mm² vapor chamber.
As part of its promotional campaign, the smartphone entered the Guinness World Records for the longest continuous livestream of electronics stress testing, which lasted 32 hours and 37 minutes.
1.5K Display, Dimensity Chip, and Sony Sensor
The device features a 6.83-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels (1.5K), a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor running Vivo’s OriginOS 6 software based on Android 16.
The camera setup includes:
- a main 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor;
- a 32MP front camera with a 90-degree field of view.
The body is protected against water and dust according to top consumer standards, IP68 and IP69: the device can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters deep and high-pressure hot water jets.
Pricing and Regional Differences
According to a press release on PR Newswire, the global version differs significantly from the model of the same name previously released in select Asian countries, which used a smaller 7,050 mAh battery.
According to Malaysian outlet Zing Gadget, the base 6/128GB version starts at around $345 with launch discounts (suggested retail price is about $370), while the top-tier 8/256GB configuration is priced at $470.
