Team Falcons Officially Leaves Dota 2: Championship Roster Disbands After 1,000 Days Without Changes

Esports organization Team Falcons has officially announced the closure of its Dota 2 division and the complete disbandment of the roster that had represented the club since late 2023. The organization has decided to rethink its global competitive strategy and redirect resources to other esports disciplines, putting an end to one of the most successful teams of recent years.

1,030 Days of Stability and $7.3 Million in Prize Money

The five-man lineup of skiter, Malr1ne, ATF, Cr1t-, and Sneyking came together on November 11, 2023. According to Liquipedia, the roster spent 1,030 days together without a single change to the starting five—a phenomenal longevity record for the modern pro scene, where reshuffles happen every six months. The team’s long-time coach, Kurtis Aui_2000, had already announced his retirement from coaching back in August.

The Falcons’ crowning achievement was winning The International 2025 in Hamburg, where they defeated China’s Xtreme Gaming 3:2 in a dramatic grand final. Over three seasons, the team also claimed trophies at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, ESL One Birmingham 2024, DreamLeague Season 22 and 23, and FISSURE Universe: Episode 6. The team’s total prize earnings over its entire run reached an impressive $7.3 million.

Shanghai Exit and Shift in Priorities

The final chapter for the team was The International 2026 in Shanghai. The favorites failed to defend their title: after losing to Team Liquid in the lower bracket, Falcons finished the tournament in 7th–8th place, while Team Spirit took the championship.

In an official statement, the club’s management emphasized that the disbandment was not due to the results at the Shanghai arena, but rather to operational sustainability concerns and a reallocation of the club’s budget. The organization has promised to help the players with transfers and finding new opportunities to continue their careers.

Whether the star five will stay together remains unknown. The players have made no announcements about moving as a unit under a new tag: ATF and skiter have already posted farewell messages on social media, and Cr1t- had hinted during the last world championship that the tournament could be the final chapter of his competitive career.
