Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina Launches April 22, 2027 — Reveals Len and New Look for White Len

Publisher Aniplex and developer French-Bread have announced the official release date for 2D fighting game Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina, set in the Tsukihime visual novel universe. The new entry in the competitive series will launch on April 22, 2027, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Story by Tsukihime Creator and White Len’s New Look

The game builds on the foundation of its predecessor, Melty Blood: Type Lumina on Steam, which surpassed 600,000 copies sold. The developers promise a revamped combat system, an expanded launch roster of characters, and a full story campaign.

Original visual novel author Kinoko Nasu returned to write the single-player scenario. The story stars Shiki Tohno, who must fight through the streets of Souya City at night, in a plot described as a conflict unfolding within an illusory dream space.

As reported by Gematsu, the trailer showcases fighting styles for Arcueid Brunestud, Ciel, Shiki Tohno, and the succubus Len, who returns as a fully playable character. At the end of the video, the team revealed a redesigned White Len, illustrated by TYPE-MOON co-founder Takashi Takeuchi.

Localization, Netcode, and Tokyo Game Show Demo

According to the official Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina website, the fighting game will feature original Japanese voiceovers and text translation in eight languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Chinese. The game will include single-player modes, local same-screen battles, and two-player online matches.

Players will get their first hands-on opportunity with the mechanics before release: a playable demo will be featured at Aniplex’s booth during Tokyo Game Show 2026, held from September 17 to September 21 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Japan.

Pricing and edition options will be revealed before pre-orders open.
