Miami Begins Prep for Massive GTA VI Marketing Campaign Ahead of November Launch

The real-world counterpart to Vice City has seen the first signs of a massive promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI. Outside the Kaseya Center—home arena of the Miami Heat basketball team—bystanders spotted giant 3D letters being unloaded in the game’s signature pink-and-white style, destined for installation on the stadium roof. Rockstar Games is moving to outdoor marketing ahead of the game’s November release.
Kaseya Center Roof and Miami Beach Branding
Basketball Properties, Miami-Dade County officials, and publisher Take-Two are jointly handling the installation prep at the arena. The massive illuminated sign will serve as the central advertising centerpiece along the Biscayne Bay waterfront.
At the same time, the game is preparing to take over the resort area. According to gaming outlet PC Gamer, the Miami Beach City Commission voted 4-3 to allow officials to enter into a partnership agreement with Rockstar.
Under the preliminary plan running from October 15 through December 31, signature “VI” branding and neon Vice City logos will appear directly on beach equipment, including lounge chairs, sun umbrellas, lifeguard towers, and cabanas along the shoreline.

Sheriff Objections and Preload Date
The attempt to turn a real city into a game backdrop sparked debate among local officials. Marketers originally planned to cover Miami International Airport, cruise port terminals, and Metrorail elevated trains.
That initiative fell through due to pushback from law enforcement. As reported by Instant Gaming News, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz publicly criticized placing branding for the crime action game on public transit, deeming the gangster aesthetic inappropriate for municipal property. As a result, promotion was restricted to the private arena and beach areas.
The official release schedule remains unchanged: the Rockstar Games website lists Grand Theft Auto VI for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Console preloads will open one week prior to launch, on November 12.
