Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that CONTROL Resonant launches September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The studio also revealed additional details about the release and early access.

Owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 5 can start playing 48 hours early. The expanded edition also includes a digital artbook, the soundtrack, cosmetic items and a starter resource pack. Details are available on the game’s page in the PlayStation Store.

Dylan Faden Takes the Lead

CONTROL Resonant picks up after the events of Control (2019), but this time the story centers on Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse Faden. After a paranormal threat escapes the Oldest House, the action moves to warped areas of Manhattan.

Remedy calls the project its biggest release to date. At the same time, the studio is noticeably changing the series’ familiar formula.

Where the first Control focused mainly on shooting and telekinetic abilities, Resonant puts more emphasis on melee combat, RPG mechanics and exploration of large zones. Dylan’s main weapon will be Aberrant, an object that can change shape and adapt to different combat styles.

Manhattan Replaces the Oldest House

Instead of the mostly enclosed spaces of the first game, players will get more spacious areas of Manhattan with additional activities and nonlinear exploration. This makes CONTROL Resonant not just a story continuation, but a noticeable overhaul of the game’s structure.

At launch, the project will be available on Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Mac version will arrive later in 2026, but Remedy has not yet announced a separate date.

The main interest in Resonant is exactly how far Remedy is willing to move away from the original Control’s formula. A new protagonist, more open locations and a focus on melee combat show that the studio isn’t just expanding the first game, but trying to noticeably rethink the series.
