iQOO Pad Ultra Gets a 9,020 mAh Battery, a 165Hz OLED and a Fan in a 5.74mm Body

iQOO keeps revealing specs for its compact gaming tablet, the Pad Ultra, which will get a full launch on September 29. The new device packs a 9,020 mAh battery, an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and an active cooling system – all in a metal body just 5.74mm thick and weighing 298g.

The company confirmed it uses its in-house Blue Ocean battery with a 9,020 mAh capacity. That’s an unusually high figure for a tablet under nine inches, especially given its small size and weight.

The device, listed under model number iPA2691, previously passed certification with support for charging at up to 66W, though iQOO has not yet included that spec in the main set of officially confirmed features.

A 165Hz OLED and a next-gen Snapdragon

One of the Pad Ultra’s key features is its 8.8-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen has symmetrical 2.65mm bezels and covers 93.3% of the front panel.

iQOO claims local peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits and a response time under 1ms. For gaming, it also offers multi-finger touch sampling of up to 500Hz and instant touch registration of up to 5,000Hz.

Performance comes from a new flagship Qualcomm processor unveiled at Snapdragon Summit 2026. Vivo has already confirmed that the iQOO Pad Ultra will be one of the first devices on the new Snapdragon.

The tablet also has two linear X-axis vibration motors and symmetrical ultra-linear speakers – another sign that the device is built primarily with mobile gaming in mind.

A fan squeezed into a body under six millimeters thick

The most unusual part of the design is a full active cooling system.

Inside is a 30 × 30 × 3.5mm fan with a maximum speed of 14,500 RPM and airflow of up to 0.94 CFM. The heat dissipation area connected to it measures 1,661 mm².

The cooling system supports several modes. The tablet can turn the fan on by itself depending on temperature, activate it when games launch and boost cooling during fast charging. Users can also manually select a mode and adjust how hard the fan works.

All this comes in an all-metal body just 5.74mm thick – the fan takes up most of the available internal space along that thickness.

You can run PC games and hook up the G1 controller

iQOO is also building a separate gaming ecosystem around the Pad Ultra. The tablet will support a PC emulator, game streaming from a computer and a mode that outputs the gaming interface to a big screen.

The device gets a slide-out iQOO G1 controller with microswitches, Hall-effect sticks and a separate USB-C port, plus an optional rear grip for a more comfortable hold.

As a result, the Pad Ultra is closer in format not so much to regular Android tablets as to compact portable gaming devices – with the controller attached, it turns into something resembling modern handheld consoles.

The iQOO Pad Ultra will be unveiled in China on September 29 alongside the iQOO 16. Silver and black colorways are confirmed. The company has not yet revealed pricing or international launch plans.
