Aston Martin Unveils the 717-HP DBX GT: A Quieter, Softer Super SUV

While most automakers keep making their performance SUVs even stiffer in pursuit of lap records, Aston Martin has gone the other way. The British brand has unveiled the DBX GT, a luxury version of its flagship super SUV. Engineers started with the uncompromising DBX S but retuned its components so that the 717-hp vehicle is comfortable to drive on everyday city trips.
The engine is unchanged: a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 under the hood produces 727 metric horsepower (717 bhp) and 900 Nm of torque. Performance has barely suffered. As Top Gear notes, the 0-100 km/h sprint takes 3.3 seconds (the car hits 60 mph in 3.1 seconds), and top speed reaches 310 km/h.
Retuned Suspension and a Quieter Exhaust

The new variant’s biggest difference is hidden in its chassis and electronics settings. The dampers get a new valve system that more effectively absorbs small bumps and high-frequency vibrations from the road surface. The nine-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch has been recalibrated for imperceptible shifts, and throttle response is now more linear and predictable.
According to Car and Driver, in the standard GT mode the exhaust sounds noticeably calmer: the mufflers cut the sharp metallic notes, leaving only a deep, low bass. Drivers can always bring back the aggressive roar by switching to Sport or Sport+. Performance hasn’t been cut for the sake of comfort, either — the massive carbon-ceramic brakes and sharp steering carry over from the track version unchanged.
Acoustic Comfort and Launch Timing

The cabin has been reworked with a focus on quietness. In an official press release, Aston Martin says acoustic side glass, thicker carpets and extra sound insulation improve the intelligibility of passengers’ speech by 13%.
The front and rear seats get revised side bolsters and an extra 10 millimeters of memory foam. The rear bench is now shaped around two distinct individual seats, though the center spot remains, keeping the car a full five-seater. Visually, the GT version is identifiable by a new grille with double bars and body-colored lower trim.
In its base configuration, the SUV comes with 22-inch forged wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Zero all-season tires, while 23-inch wheels are optional. The first cars will reach customers in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the company will announce official pricing closer to the start of the production run.
