OPPO Launches K15s and K15x in China With Up to 8000 mAh Batteries and 120Hz Displays

OPPO has expanded its Chinese K15 series with the K15s and K15x smartphones, which focus on battery life and durability. Sales of both models actually began on September 30, though the devices have only now drawn widespread attention outside China. The higher-end K15s packs an 8000 mAh battery, while the lower-end K15x has a 6500 mAh one.
The OPPO K15s features a 6.57-inch OLED display with a 2372×1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The main camera is 50MP, and the front camera is 8MP.
The 8000 mAh battery supports 45W charging. The company also claims IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings. According to IT Home, the battery is rated for more than 2,000 charging cycles and should retain at least 80% of its original capacity after about seven years of typical use.
K15s Is Almost Identical to the OPPO A7 Pro
It’s hard to call the K15s a completely new model. Its key specs are virtually identical to those of the OPPO A7 Pro: the same display, processor, cameras, battery and charging speed.
In effect, OPPO used an already familiar hardware platform in another lineup, tweaking the positioning, configuration options and body design slightly.
The OPPO K15x is noticeably simpler. It has a 6.75-inch LCD screen with a 1570×720 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 6300, 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The main camera here is 13MP, and the front camera is 5MP. The 6500 mAh battery also supports 45W charging. There’s a memory card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IP64 rating, but no NFC.
Both models run ColorOS 16.
Launch Discount of 300 Yuan
The K15s starts at 1,999 yuan (about $298), and the K15x starts at 1,699 yuan (about $253). Through October 31, OPPO is offering a 300 yuan discount: the base versions can be bought for 1,699 yuan ($253) and 1,399 yuan ($209), respectively.
The K15s comes in purple and gray, and the K15x in white and purple. Both models are already on sale in the official OPPO store.
The company has not yet announced an international launch for the K15s and K15x.
