225 Years After Korra, the World Is in Ruins: Trailer Drops for New Animated Series ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’

Paramount+ has released the full trailer for “Avatar: Seven Havens,” the next major animated series in the bender universe. Set roughly 225 years after the end of “The Legend of Korra,” the first book is scheduled to premiere on October 9, 2026.

Earthbender Pavi and a World That Rejected the Avatar

The new Avatar following Korra is a young Earth Kingdom girl named Pavi. However, the world she inhabits is radically different from the eras of Aang and Korra: civilization has suffered a devastating catastrophe, most of the land is overrun by hostile spirits, and the remnants of humanity huddle in seven isolated havens.

As Nerdist notes, the creators have flipped the franchise’s familiar formula upside down:

• While the world previously viewed the master of all four elements as a beacon of hope and a guardian of balance, the title of Avatar now inspires superstitious fear;
• Survivors view Pavi not as a protector, but as a harbinger of humanity’s final doom;
• In her quest for the truth about her origins, she is accompanied by her twin sister Nisha, her mentor Jay, and her pet animal Git.

The trailer demonstrates a direct plot connection to Korra’s legacy. However, popular fan theories suggesting the previous Avatar was personally responsible for the apocalypse remain unconfirmed—the cause of the catastrophe will serve as the story’s central mystery.

Classic 2D Animation and an Accelerated Release Schedule

Original series creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are producing the show, which features traditional 2D animation.

According to a Paramount Press Express press release, the series has been ordered for 26 half-hour episodes split into two 13-episode “books.”

As detailed on the official Paramount+ page, the first book will follow an accelerated release schedule: the service will drop three episodes weekly starting October 9, with the final batch of four episodes arriving on October 30.
