Audi TT Design Reimagined as a 35kg Espresso Machine in Rocket Espresso Collaboration

German automaker Audi has teamed up with Italian premium coffee machine manufacturer Rocket Espresso to unveil the Rocket x Audi manual espresso machine. Inspired by the silhouette of the iconic Audi TT sports car, the machine features a massive body with brushed aluminum panels, precise rounded edges, and a substantial weight of 35 kilograms.

Sports Car Silhouette and a Floating Chassis Design

The look of the new machine was created by the in-house Audi Design Team in collaboration with Milan-based studio Valerio Cometti + V12Design. The team used the prosumer Rocket Bicocca model as an engineering foundation, completely redesigning its exterior body panels.

According to coffee publication Sprudge, the machine adopts key Bauhaus-inspired design cues from the late-1990s original TT coupe:

• A mix of raw matte aluminum surfaces and gloss-black accents;
• Distinctive proportions with sloping surfaces reminiscent of automotive body aerodynamics;
• Heavy cylindrical feet that create the visual effect of a hefty metal chassis floating above the countertop.

Matching the machine’s aesthetics, the brands also introduced a standalone Rocket x Audi Spluga on-demand coffee grinder, turning the setup into a cohesive workstation for a home coffee bar.

Commercial-Grade Internals and a Touchscreen Interface

Built for advanced home baristas, the unit offers specs on par with commercial restaurant equipment. According to specifications on the Rocket Espresso website, it packs two independent stainless steel boilers: a 0.5-liter coffee brew boiler and a 1.5-liter, 1600W steam boiler.

Water delivery is handled by a quiet commercial-grade rotary pump. The machine supports drawing water from a built-in 1.8-liter reservoir as well as direct plumbing to a main water line.

Single-degree temperature management for both zones and shot-timer controls are routed through an integrated 3.5-inch touchscreen display.

The unit is already listed in the catalog on the official Rocket Espresso website, though pricing for the limited edition and regional availability will be announced later. With the standard base Bicocca model priced at several thousand euros, this designer version sporting an Audi badge is set to become a rare collector’s item bridging premium automotive design and coffee culture.
