Fable PC System Requirements Revealed: RTX 5080 and 135GB SSD Needed for 4K 60 FPS at Ultra

Developer Playground Games has revealed the official PC system requirements for the action RPG Fable. While the game is fairly accessible at entry-level presets—requiring a GeForce RTX 2060 for minimum settings—hitting a stable 60 FPS at 4K on Ultra settings will demand a GeForce RTX 5080 or RTX 4080.
Full Fable PC System Requirements Breakdown
According to details on the Fable Steam page, installation requires at least 135GB of free SSD space (a solid-state drive is mandatory across all configurations) alongside Windows 10 (version 22H2) or Windows 11.
As reported by DSOGaming, the developers prepared four target presets:
Minimum (1080p, 30 FPS, Low preset):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i7-6850K;
- GPU: GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 2060, Radeon RX 6600, or Intel Arc A580;
- VRAM: 6GB;
- RAM: 12GB.
Medium (1440p at 30 FPS or 1200p at 60 FPS, Medium preset):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-11600KF;
- GPU: GeForce RTX 5060, RTX 3060 Ti, Radeon RX 9060 XT, or RX 6700 XT;
- VRAM: 8GB;
- RAM: 16GB.
Recommended (1440p, 60 FPS, High preset):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X or Intel Core i7-12700K;
- GPU: GeForce RTX 5070, RTX 3080 Ti, Radeon RX 9070, or RX 7900 XT;
- VRAM: 12GB;
- RAM: 16GB.
Ultra (4K / 3840×2160, 60 FPS, Ultra preset):
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X or Intel Core i9-13900K;
- GPU: GeForce RTX 5080 or RTX 4080;
- VRAM: 16GB;
- RAM: 16GB.
Technical Details and Memory Requirements
Fable’s hardware targets stand out for their unusual memory balance: even for the top-tier 4K profile, the studio calls for just 16GB of system RAM, whereas VRAM requirements climb sharply—from 6GB on low settings up to 16GB on maximum settings.
Notably, AMD graphics cards are absent entirely from the 4K Ultra tier, even though the developers explicitly list the RX 7900 XT under recommended 1440p specs. The system guidelines also advise enabling XMP memory profiles and Resizable BAR technology for direct CPU access to video RAM.
The PC version supports unlocked framerates along with NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR upscalers (the studio hasn’t clarified whether frame generation was enabled when calculating these target metrics).
The World of Albion on the ForzaTech Engine
Development is being led by Playground Games, which redesigned its proprietary ForzaTech engine to support a large-scale RPG model.
As highlighted on Xbox Wire, the world of Albion emphasizes deep interactivity: players can enter virtually any building and purchase every home in the game, while the combat system lets players switch seamlessly between melee weapons, bows, and magic spells mid-combo.
PlayStation 5 Debut, Game Pass, and Launch Date
Fable launches on February 23, 2027, simultaneously for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This marks the first entry in franchise history to arrive on Sony’s console.
For the first time, press and content creators are getting hands on with Fable's style-weaving combat at @gamescom 2026.
