Full Trailer for Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’ Series Drops — All Eight Episodes Arrive October 7

Prime Video has released the full trailer for Carrie, the first multi-episode adaptation of Stephen King’s debut novel. The series is created and directed by acclaimed horror master Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, The Fall of the House of Usher). All eight episodes premiere on October 7, 2026.

Bullying in the Smartphone Era and Telekinesis

Unlike Brian De Palma’s famous 1976 film, the creators have moved the story to the present day. After her father’s death, the reclusive Carrie White enters a regular high school for the first time, having spent her entire life isolated under the strict control of her fanatically religious mother, Margaret. A clash with cruel teenagers quickly escalates into bullying filmed on smartphones and a viral social media scandal. Under stress, the protagonist begins to develop uncontrollable telekinetic abilities — the power to move objects with her mind.

Summer H. Howell stars in the lead role, having been cast after an extensive search among a thousand hopefuls. Samantha Sloyan, a regular in Flanagan’s projects, plays the mother.

According to TheWrap, the cast also includes Matthew Lillard (Scream), Amber Midthunder (Prey), Siena Agudong, and Arthur Conti. Stephen King himself personally approved the script and served as an executive producer.

All Episodes in One Day

There has been confusion on social media about the episode count, with the season mistakenly reported as six episodes. According to the official announcement on About Amazon, the series consists of eight full episodes, four of which Flanagan directed himself.

The miniseries format allowed the creators to avoid compressing the book into a two-hour film. The writers delve into the backstories of the town’s residents and the psychological motivations of the teenagers, methodically building toward the tragic climax at the prom.

All eight episodes of Carrie will be released on Prime Video simultaneously on October 7 in over 240 countries, kicking off the Halloween premiere season.
