The officially announced remake of the classic horror Resident Evil Veronica could hit store shelves in Q2 2027. According to the insider group Team Biohazard, publisher Capcom is targeting a release window between April and June. The Japanese publisher itself has only confirmed a general calendar timeframe so far: 2027.

Insider Leaks and Capcom’s Traditional Schedule

Reports about specific release months began circulating actively after Team Biohazard’s report, details of which were shared by the specialized portal EGW.News. Sources claim the studio plans to launch the project in late spring to beat the summer seasonal sales slump.

This information aligns with reports from other insiders. Earlier, insider NateTheHate mentioned that Capcom is aiming specifically for the first half of 2027. Dusk Golem, in a comment to Push Square, also noted that the studio expects to wrap up the core development cycle by March, leaving the spring months as a buffer for polishing patches.

Such a window fits perfectly with the publisher’s usual business model: the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 also went to print between January and April.

Official Project Status and Platforms

The very fact that the remake is in development is beyond doubt: in early summer, Capcom officially announced Resident Evil Veronica. The game is being built on the latest version of the RE Engine and represents a complete reimagining of the original Code: Veronica from 2000.

The story will once again focus on the search for the missing Chris Redfield, which leads his sister Claire to Umbrella Corporation’s prison complex on a remote Antarctic island. The developers promise a modern third-person camera, seamless level design, and an expanded backstory for the Ashford family.

The project is officially slated for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom will announce the exact release date later, but the spring 2027 window currently looks like the most likely scenario.
