Lenovo Giving Away First Season of The Walking Dead on Steam: Rules and Start Date

Lenovo has announced a giveaway of Steam keys for Telltale Games’ interactive drama The Walking Dead: Season 1. The giveaway kicks off on the evening of August 19 on the Lenovo Gaming Community platform.
First released in 2012, the first season of The Walking Dead holds a 97% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam based on over 80,000 user reviews. The promotion includes the standard edition of the first season.
Participation rules and activation process
To protect against abuse and bots, the organizers have established rules for claiming keys:
- Steam requirements: users must link a verified Steam account with Unlimited status (having spent or deposited at least $5 in total) to their Lenovo profile in advance;
- Virtual queue: after waiting through the digital queue on the promotion page, users will have exactly 10 minutes to claim their voucher;
- Claiming the key: the platform provides a special code for the partner store Gamesplanet, where the final key for Steam activation is generated.

The Key Drops schedule also includes an upcoming promotion: on September 2, 2026, Lenovo will begin giving away the indie game Before Your Eyes, which features gameplay controlled by blinking into a webcam.
