Helldivers 2 Launches Warhammer 40,000 Crossover, Adds Illuminate Faction, and Joins PS Plus

Helldivers 2 has released a massive update 7.0 Devoid of Liberty, launching an official crossover with the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The game adds a themed battle pass, the Illuminate enemy faction, allied AI bots, and the title has joined the PlayStation Plus subscription catalog.

Details of the Castellan’s Creed Battle Pass

The centerpiece of the crossover with Games Workshop is the Castellan’s Creed Warbond, priced at 1,500 Super Credits. The set is inspired by the Cadian Kasrkin of the Astra Militarum. It includes:

• Armor: TG-8 Sharpshooter (medium) and TG-122 Demo-Trooper (heavy) sets with a perk that increases weapon handling by 20 units and speeds up heavy support weapon reloads by 30%;
• Weapons and Stratagems: Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle laser rifle, P/40-K bolt pistol, and a Meltagun stratagem;
• Camouflage: dark green Castellan’s Green paint for APCs and exosuits.

Return of the Illuminate and Allied Bots

With the update, a third faction has entered the galactic war: the Illuminate (Enlightened), attacking from the Void biome. The first units of the new race are the evasive Wretch and the armored Crusher juggernaut with rapid regeneration.

To compensate for the increased difficulty, the game introduces SEAF squads—AI-controlled allied soldiers. They drop onto the battlefield, help fight off enemies, heal players with stims, and can respond to greeting emotes. The maximum character level cap has been raised from 150 to 300, unlocking 15 new ranks.

PS Plus Release and Global Event

Helldivers 2 has officially joined the PlayStation Plus library for Extra and Premium tier subscribers. To celebrate the release and the influx of new players, a global Super Earth order has been announced: the community must eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18. As a reward, participants will receive four exclusive PlayStation profile avatars.
