Helldivers 2 launches Warhammer 40,000 collaboration, adds the Illuminate, and joins PS Plus

Helldivers 2 has released its massive 7.0 Devoid of Liberty update, launching an official collaboration with the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The game has added a themed Warbond, the Illuminate enemy faction, AI-controlled allied bots, and the title has joined the PlayStation Plus subscription catalog.

Castellan’s Creed Warbond details

The centerpiece of the crossover with Games Workshop is the “Castellan’s Creed” Warbond, priced at 1,500 Super Credits. The set is inspired by the Cadian Kasrkin of the Astra Militarum and includes:

Armor: TG-8 Sharpshooter (medium) and TG-122 Demo-Trooper (heavy) sets with a perk that increases weapon handling by 20 points and speeds up heavy support weapon reloading by 30%;
Weapons and Stratagems: Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, P/40-K bolt pistol, and a Meltagun stratagem;
Camouflage: Castellan’s Green dark green paint scheme for APCs and exosuits.

Return of the Illuminate and allied bots

Along with the update, a third faction has entered the Galactic War: the Illuminate (The Enlightened), attacking from the Void biome. The first units of the new race are the evasive Wretch and the armored, fast-regenerating Crusher juggernaut.

To compensate for the increased difficulty, the game has introduced SEAF platoons—AI-controlled allied soldiers. They drop onto the battlefield, help fight off enemies, heal players with stims, and can respond to emotes. The maximum character level has been raised from 150 to 300, unlocking 15 new ranks.

PS Plus release and global event

Helldivers 2 has officially joined the PlayStation Plus library for Extra and Premium tier subscribers. To celebrate the release and the influx of new players, a Super Earth Global Order has been issued: the community must destroy 500 million enemies by August 18. As a reward, participants will receive four exclusive avatars for their PlayStation profile.
