PUBG Launches Jujutsu Kaisen Crossover with Gojo and Sukuna Skins, Unlimited Void, and Kicking Mechanics

Battle royale game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has launched a major crossover event with the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen. Update 43.1 went live on PC on September 10, while console players will get access to the themed content on September 17. The developers added skins of key sorcerers, upgradable weapon skins, interactive map areas, and a dedicated Crafter Pass.

‘Unlimited Void’ on the Spawn Island and Warehouses on Erangel

The crossover changes the familiar pre-match lobby. Jujutsu Kaisen crates have appeared on the spawn islands of all maps, giving each player 20 mystical orbs to throw at the container. After 20 direct hits, a statue of Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of modern times, rises from the crate, covering the location for 15 seconds with the visual dome of his Domain Expansion technique, ‘Unlimited Void.’

On Erangel itself, themed warehouses have opened up. Life-sized character standees and interactive vending machines that dispense bandages, energy drinks, and adrenaline syringes are placed inside the buildings. Transport planes, parachutes, and airdrop crates in both normal and ranked matches also feature themed branding.

Sorcerer Outfits, Cursed Beryl M762, and Crafter Pass

The Workshop now features outfits and hairstyles of the anime’s main characters:

  • Uniform sets for Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo;
  • Individual cosmetic items for Suguru Geto and the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.

The main prize for collectors includes three progressive weapon skins: a Gojo-themed M24 sniper rifle (10 levels), Megumi’s VSS rifle (6 levels), and a Beryl M762 assault rifle in Sukuna’s demonic style (10 levels). As players upgrade the weapons, they change barrel geometry and gain unique kill feed designs, hit effects, and a custom loot crate left behind at an eliminated enemy’s location.

A Crafter Pass: Jujutsu Kaisen is available for the event priced at $11.99. By completing daily and weekly challenges, players earn tokens and coupons to open chests containing anime cosmetics. The main phase of the event will run on PC until mid-October.

Kicks, Shooting While Floating, and Carrying Heavy Items in Patch 43.1

Beyond the crossover, Update 43.1 on the official PUBG website introduces several key gameplay adjustments:

  • Kick attack: melee combat now includes a kick from the ground and while jumping. The move knocks off enemy aim, interrupts healing, breaks wooden doors and fences, and shatters windows;
  • Shooting while floating: swimming and diving speeds have increased by 25%, and players can now fire pistols and throw grenades while on the water surface;
  • Carrying items: players can now temporarily carry heavy boxes and fuel cans in both hands without taking up backpack space, and toss them to teammates while moving.

All update content and the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration are now available on PC, with the console launch on PlayStation and Xbox scheduled for September 17.
