Chery Revives Arrizo 7 Sedan with Design Clearly Inspired by Audi A5

Chery has officially unveiled the new generation of the Arrizo 7 sedan, bringing the model back to the market after a multi-year hiatus. The car will make its public debut at the Chengdu Motor Show. The updated model draws attention with a radical redesign that clearly reflects styling cues from the German premium segment.
The front end features a wide polygonal honeycomb grille, narrow LED headlights, a sculpted hood, and prominent side air intakes in the bumper. Industry media, including Brazilian outlet Auto+, have already dubbed the vehicle a visual counterpart to the current-generation Audi A5, though Chery itself describes the exterior more conservatively as a blend of “Eastern philosophy and global aesthetics.”
Coupe-Like Silhouette and Proven Platform
In profile, the sedan displays dynamic fastback proportions with a sloping roofline, traditional door handles, and five-spoke alloy wheels revealing sporty red brake calipers. At the rear, designers installed a full-width light bar and a subtle spoiler integrated into the trunk lid.
According to analytics portal MarkLines, the new Arrizo 7 is built on the M1X modular platform. In the brand’s model lineup, it will sit below the flagship Arrizo 8 sedan, offering premium visual styling in a more affordable segment.

Focus on Gas Engines
The automaker has yet to reveal the powertrain specs and interior design. However, the massive open grille directly points to an internal combustion engine under the hood.
As noted by Yicai Global, amidst widespread electrification, Chery is intentionally bucking the trend by expanding its lineup of traditional gas-powered sedans for both domestic and export markets.

Pricing, trim options, and the sales launch date for the new Chery Arrizo 7 will be announced during the official presentation at the Chengdu show.
