Virtus.pro Disbands International Dota 2 Roster After Missing The International 2026

Esports organization Virtus.pro has announced the complete disbandment of its main Dota 2 roster. The club’s management decided to undertake a major overhaul of the division following a series of setbacks in the 2026 season, including missing out on The International 2026 and an early exit from the Esports World Cup.

The entire roster is leaving the club alongside the coaching staff:

• Enzo «Timado» Gianoli — Carry;
• Abed «Abed» Yusop — Midlaner;
• Jonáš «SabeRLight-» Volek — Offlaner;
• Kirill «Hellscream» Lagutik — Support;
• Tal «Fly» Aizik — Support and Captain;
• Sam «BuLba» Sosale — Coach.

Results of the International Experiment

According to the team’s Liquipedia profile, the international roster lasted less than a year. In September 2025, the organization departed from forming an exclusively Eastern European lineup for the first time in its history, opting instead for a combination of experienced imports from Southeast Asia and North America.

Despite their status, the team failed to achieve consistent performance: according to statistics from the Dotabuff portal, the roster’s win rate for the season was around 50%. At ESL One Birmingham, the team finished only 9th–10th, and ended up in 12th–14th place at PGL Wallachia Season 8.

TI Qualifier Failure and Early Exit from EWC 2026

The main catalyst for the disbandment was the team’s performance in the main summer events. At the closed European qualifiers for The International 2026 in Shanghai, the team needed just one more lower bracket series win, but lost to HULIGANI by a score of 1:2, missing out on a spot at the year’s main tournament.

At the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, the squad failed to reach the main playoffs, losing to Rune Eaters (1:2) in the first round of the Survival stage and finishing in 13th–16th place.

Building a New Roster

Earlier in July, the club shut down its youth division, VP.Prodigy, citing changes in Valve’s competitive ecosystem.

As reported on the official Virtus.pro website, the organization will continue competing in the discipline and will unveil an updated roster ahead of the next tournament cycle. Management will announce later whether the club will return to a Russian-speaking roster or maintain its international direction.
