Acer Launches Slim Nitro V 16S Gaming Laptop With RTX 5060 and 180Hz Display

Acer has expanded its budget gaming laptop lineup with the Nitro V 16S, featuring dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics. The device features a 16-inch IPS display with a 180Hz refresh rate, an Intel Core 5 210H processor, and a chassis measuring just 20 mm thick while weighing 2.1 kg.
The new model targets users seeking a balance between everyday portability and gaming performance in modern titles at 1080p and 1200p resolutions.
85W GeForce RTX 5060 Graphics and Gaming
The graphics subsystem relies on a mobile GeForce RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM based on the Blackwell architecture. The graphics card features an 85W power limit due to the compact cooling system.
The GPU supports NVIDIA’s full tech stack: DLSS 4 upscaling, frame generation, ray tracing, and the Reflex low-latency system.
According to independent benchmark tests from Tom’s Hardware, the 85W RTX 5060 configuration delivers around 98 FPS in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, 82 FPS in Far Cry 6, and 69 FPS in Red Dead Redemption 2 at Full HD resolution.

Fast 180Hz Display and Intel Core 5 Processor
The 16:10 display offers a 180Hz refresh rate. Depending on the configuration, buyers can choose panels with resolutions of 1920 × 1200 or 2560 × 1600 pixels (with 100% sRGB coverage and NVIDIA G-SYNC support). The base panel reaches a brightness of around 392 nits, delivering vibrant images without flickering.
Handling processing duties is an 8-core, 12-thread Intel Core 5 210H processor clocked at up to 4.8 GHz. The laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a fast 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with support for manual upgrades to both components down the road.
Battery Life and Power Adapter Details
The device measures 358 × 264 × 20 mm. A 76 Wh battery provides over 10 hours of battery life during video playback and office tasks. Port selection includes a Thunderbolt 4 interface, an HDMI 2.1 video output, three USB-A ports, gigabit Ethernet, and a microSD card slot.
As noted on the official Acer support forum, to keep the laptop compact, the manufacturer bundled it with a 135W power adapter. Under simultaneous maximum CPU and 85W GPU loads, the system may briefly draw power from the internal battery to offset peak power consumption.
