3DMAX CS2 Roster Faces Collapse Over €2M Club Debt as Captain Seeks Sponsors

French esports organization 3DMAX faces potential insolvency with debts reaching up to 2 million euros. Counter-Strike 2 team captain Bryan “Maka” Canda published an open appeal to sponsors and outside organizations, asking for funding to cover the team’s travel to upcoming LAN tournaments.

The players risk missing out on qualifying for the year’s main championship due to the club’s lack of a basic operating budget.

Valve VRS Ranking and Threat of Missing the Major

According to Ukrainian outlet Sport.UA, the roster has faced systemic non-payment of salaries and prize money, as well as delayed hotel bookings, for a year and a half.

As noted by analytics portal bo3.gg, 3DMAX currently ranks 40th in the global Valve VRS ranking. To qualify for the Singapore Major, the team must earn points at in-person LAN events in September. Without external funding, travel to these tournaments will be impossible.

€2 Million Debt and Collapsed Deal With YouTuber CYRILmp4

The organization’s financial troubles have been escalating since 2024. According to an investigation by insider KRL on Dust2.us, 3DMAX’s total debt to players, staff, and contractors is estimated between 1.5 and 2 million euros, including unpaid sticker revenue from past Majors.

According to Sheep Esports, the team spent several months negotiating a move to another banner:

• Spanish club Team Heretics was prepared to buy out the roster and cover part of the debt, but backed out of the deal;
• A preliminary acquisition agreement was signed by prominent French YouTuber CYRILmp4 (over five million subscribers), but the deal completely fell apart on August 20.

Crowdfunding and Current Roster

Following the failed sale, 3DMAX CEO Stéphane Pons launched a public crowdfunding campaign, “Road to Major Singapour,” to raise money for the players’ plane tickets.

The French lineup consisting of Lucky, Maka, Graviti, misutaaa, and Kursy remains together. The team has played together since 2023, won the Skyesports Championship 2024, and participated in three Majors. If outside funding is not secured, the players plan to leave the organization and continue competing together under a new tag.
