GTA 6 Leaker Cashes Out $270,000 From Own Memecoin Ahead of Rockstar Reveal

An anonymous insider using the alias Cyberleek, who published a series of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay videos, cashed out roughly $270,000 in profit from their self-created memecoin, CYBERLEEK. According to blockchain analysts, the massive token dump occurred just hours before Rockstar Games‘ official gameplay broadcast on Netflix.

Following the creator’s cash-out, the cryptocurrency’s price immediately plummeted by nearly half.

Promoting the Memecoin via Gameplay Leaks

Starting August 18, the Cyberleek group accompanied their video uploads with promotions for the CYBERLEEK token on the Solana network, claiming that an increase in the coin’s market cap would directly accelerate new leaks. Users were invited to use tokens to vote on which specific gameplay clips would be published next—ranging from nighttime gunfights to Lucia’s story prologue.

Amid the hype surrounding GTA VI, the memecoin’s market capitalization peaked at $25 million on August 23.

On-Chain Cash-Out of $270,000 and Price Crash

According to CoinDesk, the smart contract owner withdrew accrued trading fees totaling $146,000 in wrapped SOL, then sold a pool of 15.4 million CYBERLEEK tokens in a single transaction for $125,000 in SOL cryptocurrency.

The total locked-in profit reached approximately $270,000–$271,000.

After the leaker cashed out, the token’s market price dropped by 46%, with its market cap shrinking to $7.3 million. The creator’s actions contradicted earlier claims that the leaks were an “ideological protest against digital pre-orders and the demise of single-player games.”

KuCoin Exchange Trail and Take-Two Subpoenas

As reported by Dexerto, the funds were split across four wallets after taking profits, with a portion deposited into the centralized crypto exchange KuCoin. Analysts noted that the creator’s address was previously funded from a KYC-verified account, creating a risk that law enforcement could unmask the leaker.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive has already issued subpoenas to Microsoft, Discord, X, and YouTube to track down the owners of Cyberleek’s accounts.

In an official statement, Rockstar Games emphasized that the official 30-minute broadcast, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, will air as scheduled on August 27 at 22:00, with the action game set to release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
