Rockstar Games Comments on Massive GTA 6 Leaks for First Time, Addresses Fans

Rockstar Games has officially responded to the recent string of massive Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks for the first time. In an official statement on social media, the developers admitted that the publication of stolen footage was a painful blow to the team, apologized to fans for the long wait, and asked the community to refrain from sharing story spoilers.

The developers emphasized that they have been preparing the official gameplay reveal for years and are committed to delivering the project at the highest possible level of quality.

Apology for Delays and August 27 Showcase

In its statement, the company acknowledged that preparing full-fledged materials took longer than the audience expected:

“We know how long you’ve been waiting to see the game, and we apologize that creating this project took so much time.”

Despite the activity of the Cyberleek group, the studio does not intend to change its plans: the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look stream will take place on Thursday, August 27, where the creators will officially reveal new gameplay details for the first time.

Rockstar specifically asked players not to post spoilers regarding the start of the story campaign and not to deprive other users of the opportunity to experience the characters’ story for themselves for the first time.

November 19 Release Confirmed and Take-Two Legal Actions

According to TheGamer, the statement rules out rumors of a potential delay due to the incident. The studio explicitly urged fans to wait for the game’s release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

At the same time, publisher Take-Two Interactive continues its legal pressure on leak distribution channels: the company previously issued official subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord to uncover the identities behind the unauthorized leaks.
