The Blood of Dawnwalker Team Moves to Next Saga Game: Rebel Wolves Seeks Lead Writer

Rebel Wolves, the studio founded by CD Projekt RED veterans, has begun early preparation for the next chapter of its dark role-playing saga. Just days after the release of the dark fantasy The Blood of Dawnwalker, the company’s narrative director Jakub Szamałek announced that it is looking for a lead writer to develop the story’s continuation.
Warm Reception and a Journey Through the Ages
The Polish team’s debut game launched on September 3 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with support from publisher Bandai Namco. The action RPG received excellent reviews: its average score on Metacritic settled around 83, and IGN gave it 9 out of 10.
The successful launch has paved the way for the studio to realize long-held plans. As highlighted in the official Bandai Namco blog, the Dawnwalker saga was originally designed as a long-term anthology of several major AAA games.
In a summer teaser at Summer Game Fest, the creators revealed a key feature of the universe: the stories are set to span entire centuries. The protagonist, Coen, cursed with immortality, will travel through various historical eras, states, and cultures. The conflict of the first part concluded with a full resolution, so the next project will show a completely different chapter in the character’s life, moving the action to another century.
Early Development Stage
A job opening for a Lead Writer has been posted on the official Rebel Wolves website. The new hire will lead the writing team, shaping the lore, dialogues, and choice-and-consequence system for the next major release.
As noted in an Insider Gaming report, there has been no formal announcement with a trailer and an official subtitle for the second part yet — the game is in narrative pre-production. However, the active recruitment confirms that the studio intends to develop its own role-playing franchise without lengthy pauses.
