Base Audi A2 e-tron Is Noticeably Simpler Than the Debut Version — Prices Start at €38,200

After the official debut of the compact Audi A2 e-tron EV, images of the base trim without the S line package have appeared in online configurators. In this modest form, the car will become the most affordable entry in the brand’s European EV lineup: pricing in Germany starts at €38,200, pre-orders are already open, and customer deliveries will begin in December 2026.

A modest bumper, 18-inch wheels and a full interior

The visual contrast with the official press-kit photos is striking. On show stands and in promo videos, the company showed cars in the top sporty S line trim with contrasting gloss sills, wide air intakes and 20-inch wheels.

As the specialist outlet Automobile Propre points out, the standard version at the lowest price looks considerably more restrained:

• The front and rear bumpers lose their elaborate aero trim and diffusers;
• The wheel arches and sills are missing the black gloss inserts, and the side mirror housings are painted in the base body color;
• The car comes with standard 18-inch wheels (19-inch wheels are reserved for versions from 231 hp, while 20-inch wheels remain a paid option).

At the same time, the manufacturer did not cut back the interior. According to Audi’s official description, the €38,200 entry trim keeps the brand’s MMI digital cockpit: an 11.9-inch instrument display, a 12.8-inch central multimedia touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera and an automatic emergency braking system.

170 hp and a new entry ticket to the brand

The entry version is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 125 kW (about 170 hp) and a 52 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Range is 423 km on the WLTP cycle, 0–100 km/h takes 8.8 seconds, and top speed is software-limited to 160 km/h. A DC terminal rated at up to 100 kW charges the battery from 10 to 80% in 24 minutes.

Top versions producing up to 326 hp with an 84 kWh battery can cover up to 646 km, but cost noticeably more than €50,000.

The €38,200 base version lacks the show-car aggression, but it offers a full set of digital features. After the compact A1 and Q2 models are finally discontinued, the standard A2 e-tron takes on the role of the entry ticket to the world of German premium.
