OPPO Unveils Reno16: Huge Battery, Four 50MP Cameras, and a Magnetic Selfie Screen

OPPO has unveiled the international version of the Reno16 5G. The phone stands out for its unusual spec balance: despite a relatively compact 6.32-inch screen, engineers managed to fit a 6,700 mAh battery and four 50-megapixel cameras inside. Alongside the smartphone, the company debuted a unique magnetic accessory that solves the main issue with high-quality selfies.

A Magnetic Viewfinder Instead of a Second Screen

On social media, the new release was quickly dubbed a “dual-screen smartphone,” but that is a misconception. The OPPO Bubble is actually a separate portable round AMOLED display puck that attaches to the phone’s back cover via magnets.

It mirrors the main camera’s feed in real time, allowing users to take selfies using a fast primary lens while clearly seeing frame boundaries. Weighing just 27.5 grams, the gadget packs its own 550 mAh battery and connects to the smartphone at distances of up to 10 meters. In practice, it functions as a hybrid wireless remote and external display, letting users control zoom or show animated screen savers when the camera is not in use.

Four 50MP Cameras and Horizon Leveling

The camera setup on the Reno16 5G relies on four sensors of matching resolution. The rear module features a main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultrawide lens, and a telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and dedicated OIS. The front-facing camera gets a wide 100-degree field of view for group shots.

Among software tools, the Auto Straighten feature stands out. The algorithm automatically levels tilted horizons by up to 5 degrees during 4K/60 fps video recording, applying a slight crop for smooth footage. Content creators also get Dual-View Video 2.0 (simultaneous recording on both front and rear cameras) and a built-in AI collage editor.

Hardware Specs and Availability

The smartphone is powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. The company’s Ukrainian site lists a configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The front panel is dominated by a 2640 × 1216 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Battery life is the phone’s most impressive feature. The 6,700 mAh capacity sets a record for devices around the 6.3-inch mark (such large batteries are typically reserved for bulky gaming phones). It supports OPPO’s proprietary 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, capable of powering the battery from 1% to 100% in 59 minutes.

The smartphone has already listed on OPPO’s official website with a “coming soon to Ukraine” status. Exact release dates and local retail pricing have not yet been announced.
