Anthro Festival 2026 Kicks Off on Steam With Discounts and Demos for Hundreds of Games Featuring Anthropomorphic Animals

The Steam digital store has launched Anthro Festival 2026, an annual themed festival and sale featuring games with anthropomorphic animals as key characters. The event runs from August 20 to 24.
The event brings together projects of various genres, from action games, platformers, and turn-based RPGs to dating sims and visual novels. While the audience often perceives it as a “big furry sale,” the organizers interpret the theme more broadly — the catalog includes any games featuring intelligent, upright-walking animals.
A community initiative that became an annual tradition
The event is not an official sale by Valve itself — it is a partner event organized by a community team led by indie developer Klace.
- History: The first festival took place in June 2024, featuring 99 titles (including Laika: Aged Through Blood, BROK the InvestiGATOR, and Friends vs Friends) and attracting nearly 47,000 unique visitors to the sale page.
- Niche scale: Interest in the genre is confirmed by dedicated Steam curators — for example, the Anthro / Furry Tag community has over 20,000 followers and a catalog of thousands of titles.
In addition to discounts on previous releases, the festival offers free demos of upcoming indie projects, and the main page features live streams from developers. The sale ends on August 24 at 8:00 PM Moscow time.
