Filming on Wednesday Season 3 Wraps as Netflix Shares New Photo of Jenna Ortega

Netflix has officially announced that filming on Season 3 of Wednesday has wrapped. Production ended on September 30, and along with the announcement the service released a new photo of Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, seated at a table in front of her typewriter.
The shoot lasted about seven months. Like Season 2, the new episodes were made primarily in the Dublin area, as production moved to Ireland after the first season, which was filmed in Romania.
The project now moves into post-production: editing, visual effects, sound work and other final stages before release.
Wednesday May Travel Far Beyond Nevermore
Season 3 will again be tied to Nevermore Academy, but the story’s geography looks set to expand.
A behind-the-scenes photo previously appeared on Netflix’s official page showing Wednesday near the Eiffel Tower. The service has not yet revealed details of that story beat, but it strongly hints at a possible trip to Paris for the character.
Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar also promise to keep expanding the show’s world. According to the creators, the new season will introduce new members of the Addams family, and viewers will learn more family secrets.
One of the main new characters will be Ophelia, Morticia Addams’s mysterious sister, played by Eva Green.
Winona Ryder and Lena Headey Join the Show
The Season 3 cast has grown noticeably.
Winona Ryder, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, James Lance, Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer have joined the series. Netflix is keeping details of most of their roles under wraps.
Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán and other main cast members are returning to their characters.
Tim Burton also remains an executive producer and director on the project. He previously said he was especially glad to work again with Winona Ryder, Eva Green, Chris Sarandon and Noah Taylor.
No Premiere Date Yet
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Season 3 of Wednesday. The service’s official page does not even list a specific release window, so any more precise dates remain unofficial.
The end of filming means principal production is complete, but for a show with a large number of supernatural scenes and computer graphics, post-production could take several more months.
Season 1 of Wednesday, meanwhile, remains the most-watched English-language series in Netflix history.
