The first teaser for the sci-fi series “Blade Runner 2099” has been released online. The project will serve as a continuation of the iconic cinematic universe, with events taking place half a century after the finale of Denis Villeneuve’s film “Blade Runner 2049”.
A new world order: Humans as second-class citizens
The main premise of the plot is built on a radical role reversal between humans and artificial beings (replicants):
- Uprising and victory: Over the past 50 years, replicants have staged a full-scale uprising, emerged victorious, and completely seized power on the planet.
- Status change: The familiar order of things has been destroyed. Now, humanity itself has become the oppressed class, relegated to the status of second-class citizens.
Premiere date
The premiere of “Blade Runner 2099” is scheduled for November 25.
