Elden Ring to receive major Tarnished Edition update with two new classes and a new location

The action-RPG Elden Ring is set to receive a major update titled Tarnished Edition. The update will introduce a new area to explore, additional gear, and two new starting classes.
New starting classes
The update will add characters tailored to different playstyles:
- Heavy Knight: A class focused on fans of heavy armor. The character begins the game at level 10. Their starting kit includes a powerful curved sword and a set of protective armor.
- Idus Knight: A fast-paced melee warrior. Starts the journey at level 7. The class equipment includes a new armor set, a shield, and the lightweight greatsword Milady.
Idus Region location and new gear
A key content addition will be the new location — Idus Region. Exploring this territory will grant players access to additional weapon types and new gear.
Release date and platforms
The Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition update will be released on August 28. The launch will take place simultaneously across all supported platforms.
