Four Load Trams While a Fifth Pretends to Help: MIMESIS Horror Game Gets Logistics Mode Update

Studio ReLU Games has released a major update for its co-op horror game MIMESIS. On September 18, the game added a new Logistics Mode, in which the team takes on the role of cargo station workers. The main job is to sort packages, service incoming trains and earn money — all while trying not to fall victim to creatures that copy your friends’ voices.

Routine, fines and a schedule

Logistics Mode is built around a strict division of duties and time management. When a tram arrives at the station, the crew has to check its destination and load the right goods. Different types of cargo pay different amounts, and trains depart strictly on schedule. If the team finishes early, the tram can be sent off manually to save time.

As the shift goes on, ordinary loading is no longer enough: the cars periodically need refueling, decontamination and repairs. The money you earn goes toward useful upgrades — for example, equipment that helps you identify the right destination faster or increases your final payouts.

Mistakes hit your wallet: sending cargo to the wrong place, poor technical condition of the cars or the death of one of the loaders immediately cuts the team’s final paycheck.

The main rule — there are only four of you

The developers have woven MIMESIS’s core mechanic organically into the new routine — monsters that can imitate the appearance, behavior and voices of living players. The station’s official rules state that a work crew consists of exactly four people. But in the middle of loading, a fifth “employee” can suddenly turn up at the conveyor.

In the update announcement, the authors directly advise players to carefully check their partners’ faces before the shift starts and never talk to anyone who seems out of place. Given that the game requires constant coordination over voice chat, a Mimic appearing among the loaders can quickly turn an orderly process into paranoia.
