Genshin Impact’s Massive 7.0 Update Arrives: Snezhnaya Launch, Personal Train, and New Characters

Genshin Impact has released its massive 7.0 update, “Relentless Eternal Cold,” adding the long-awaited Snezhnaya region to the game. This release concludes the main story chapter of Teyvat that HoYoverse has been leading players toward since 2020.
Snezhnaya’s design draws inspiration from Eastern European culture. The region’s main hub is the industrial city of Snezhnograd, home to the Tsaritsa’s Palace and the Fatui headquarters. The palace’s architecture features a Russo-Byzantine style with references to the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral. Players can travel across the region on their own customizable train, which serves as fast transport between stations and shelter from storms.
The storyline revolves around an energy crisis and a severe blizzard. To survive the new freezing survival mode, players use the “Grain of Graia” gadget, powered by “Cresnik energy.” After visiting the first Statue of the Seven in Snezhnaya, the Traveler can also unlock Cryo resonance, gaining area control and enemy freezing abilities.
New Characters and Banners
Alongside the new region, new heroes have joined the game:
- Odette (5★, Cryo, Sword): Prima ballerina of the Royal Troupe and a secret Fatui agent, whose combat style revolves around hitting the rhythm of movements;
- Alyosha (4★, Electro, Polearm): A hunter from the border village of Stretomorozsk, serving as an Electro support. He can be obtained for free by completing the first chapter of Snezhnaya’s story.
Alongside Odette’s banner, the Harbinger Arlecchino has returned to the game. Players can earn up to 560 Primogems for fully completing Snezhnaya’s story block.
